PRIVACY POLICY
What data we keep, and why
We keep as little as we can. This page lists all of it: what is recorded when you open the site, use your location, or turn on alerts.
Updated
When you open the site
Without signing up for anything, only this is recorded:
- Visit counts through Vercel Web Analytics: the page opened, the site you came from, your country, device type, browser and operating system. It uses no cookies and does not identify you as a person.
- Speed measurements through Vercel Speed Insights: how long the page takes to appear, how quickly it responds to a tap, and how much the layout shifts, along with the route, device and country. No cookies and no identity.
- A few actions, such as pressing the location button or choosing an area. We never send coordinates or anything you type. For villages and districts only the level is recorded, not the name.
- A log of API requests: IP address, page, time and browser type, kept 30 days to prevent abuse. Coordinates and search text are not logged. An IP address that sends too many requests may be blocked for a while.
Your location
The site asks for your location only after you press a location button, and your browser asks for your permission. It is used to find the city or regency you are in. We do not store the coordinates.
Areas you save on the map are kept in your own browser, not on our server.
Signing up for email alerts
If you sign up for email alerts, we keep your email address, the area you chose, its topics (such as air or earthquakes) and your language. It is used only to send the alerts you asked for.
Alerts on your device
When you turn on alerts, your browser gives us a delivery address and its keys. We keep them with the areas and topics you chose. My location is stored as a city or regency code, not as the device's position.
Alerts are delivered through your browser maker's push service (such as Google, Apple or Mozilla). Device data is removed when you turn alerts off, or when that service tells us the device is no longer active. A record of each alert sent is kept 30 days so none is sent twice.
Who else processes data
We show no ads. Data is stored and processed by the services we use to run the site:
- Vercel: site hosting, Web Analytics and Speed Insights.
- Prisma Postgres: the database.
- Browser push services: only if you turn on alerts.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted. Contact us and mention the email or area you signed up with so we can find it. Email alert sign-ups can be removed this way too.
If this policy changes
Changes are recorded on this page with a new update date. If a change affects data you have already given us, we will tell you on the site or by email.
